Hi here is a question from the Netherlands:
Does anyone with a 5 serie (E60/ E61), has the same problem as I have with my BMW 5 serie E61 (Touring) 535 D?.
Equiped with Dynamic Drive and Aktiv Steering.
At slow speed < 50mph if you turn the steering wheel, fast left to right there is a sound in the rear axle?? After 2 times turning it is gone again, but after a few meters straight and the same manouvere the sound is back.
It sounds like an hydraulic problem, but all the hydraulics and stabilisators including steering pump have been replaced by BMW.
It will only appear wenn the steering wheel is turned for about 5 or 10 degrees left to right or right/left (a bit like shaking the car). I know this is not a normal thing to do on the road, I did notice it wenn avoiding a mother duck with about 7 little ones.................
BMW Netherlands does not know the solution and is saying that this is a normal sound.........yeah sure.................
