Chaps I have a 2005 (march) 535D A Sport Saloon and it is off for its first free service (free - well part of the maintenance plan)
ANYWAY - I said I wanted the software updated...... and they seemed unsure as no-one had ever asked for that before. She put me on hold then came back with a story saying not sure if they can do it.
SO - what should I ask for??? I want to play MP3 files - I have pro NAV, with the single slot CD and the 6 CD Changer. What reason should I give?
Your help please!!! (I phoned Wood in Hampshire - Odiham/Hook Dealership)
(The car has gone from a while you wait service to an all day job when I said I wanted the computer updated.)
Thanks

If your car is supposed to be MP3 capable, then the dealer is obligated to install the software IMO. I have no info on whether your model is supposed to be MP3 capable. I would talk directly to a service advisor about the issue. If your dealer is clueless about updating software in general, as may be the case given what you say, then I would want to go to a more experienced dealer for software updates.
