E60 CIC retrofit/nomenclature questions
Here's a topic I don't know much about.
Some of you may have been keeping up with my last post regarding my saddening time with working on my 06 550i. While I'm waiting on some parts to come in the mail to patch it up, I've been doing some research on retrofitting a newer head unit into my 06. I've heard plenty of terms thrown around, including CCC/CIC/LCI/Pre-LCI. Does anybody have some good knowledge on these? A lot of this stuff goes right over my head. I'm getting ready to hit a junkyard in the coming weeks to get me a newer unit.
What is the difference between CCC/CIC? AFAIK these are just the differences between older and newer e60 head unit systems.
What is LCI?

I'm thinking of doing the same thing as you going to NBT Evo but I probably won't because it ain't cheap.
