Hi there. I searched for answers in the german E60 Forums, but couldn't find any information about disabling the Signals and Display when not buckled up.

I don't know if this is an issue with the US Version of this car. But it is very annoying coz' I usually did not use the seatbelts when I drove in town in my old car.

Perhaps someone has information for me.

Thanks

Rainer

I'm not sure of a way to disable it from the start but if you can tollerate the no seat belt tone for a few minutes it eventually stops. Yes if you drive around long enough with the waring tone it just goes away. I haven't taken the time to get out the stop watch but give it a try.

Very easy to get rid of the buckle up warning - just buckle up! The other way is to shift into reverse gear, the warning will also go off.

Nice.... Well, I asked the dealer. They told me, there was no way to turn this off. They were asked this many times by customers, but don't have the possibility.

The only way would be to put a clasp with out a belt into the lock.... (I don't know the correct english terms for this things ;-))

I do buckle up most times.... but those small 5 minute trips thru a sleepy german town.... It's annoying....

Maybe someone can hack the software some time...

Thx for Your help.

I was in Sydney recently and saw a taxi drive buckle up his seat belt by pulling the belt behind his seat to buckle up.
