My Ride: 530D E60
Default E60 ahl

Hi,
I have an E60 530D with AHL but the AHL dosn't work. The headlights won't even do the self test when you turn you car on. I checked the connections to the SMC modules and they are good. So i figured i'll try to look at the coding and see if a problem exists there but when i try to read RSMC and LSMC via NCS i get an error.

Does this mean that both my SMC are fried? Or NCS just can't communicate with those ECUs and i have to use some other program.

I also get two faults.

No. This means the LM is fried.
Had the same problem.

You need a new LM.

But my lights work. So does it mean there is some specific chip that has gone bad on the LM?

Yes. It burned out only the communication part between the LM main processor and the ALC modules form the headlights.
