Exclamation E60 545i won't going forward when you release the brake.

Hello everyone,

Thank you so much for helping, I have a 2004 545i with a SMG transmission, however it won't going forward/backward when you release the break pedal as most vehicles does. It will move only if you give it a little gas. I am not sure if this car act correct.

Please let me know how your cars works! Thank you so much

Cheers!

this is correct with the SMG gearbox, since it is an automated manual, not a traditional automatic gearbox

Sounds normal to me, the only SMG car I ever drove was an E46 M3 and it behaved the same way. Think of it as a manual transmission that has a little robot pushing the clutch pedal for you, since that's essentially what it is.

Yeah, it would be reasonable considering about the inside processes. Thank you so much for your reply!
