Hello all, i own a 535d e60 and i am curious a bit about the power it has , it starts to be slow for me these days, my question is , how much torque can the automatic transition handle , i heard its 600 , if so there is no point chipping it , or? can you advise?

Spawner,
The gearbox is a torque converter rather than a clutch plate system, so is designed for massive amounts of torque. Do a search here for auto clutch failure to see how often they break. I have now done 225,000 Km and the clutch has been worked hard and is still fine.
Good luck,
Mike
