Hello all, i own a 535d e60 and i am curious a bit about the power it has , it starts to be slow for me these days, my question is , how much torque can the automatic transition handle , i heard its 600 , if so there is no point chipping it , or? can you advise?

...i personally know cases that are above 700 nm, with more than 380 hp (faster than my car  )...but noone will give you any guarantees about chpping, remapping or any other power mods...

700 nm is a lot , i am afriad if'll do that it will break the gearbox in a couple of months , or it wont? i dont know , i think the best way will be trying but buying a new automatic gearbox for 2500euros is not my dream :D

Spawner,

The gearbox is a torque converter rather than a clutch plate system, so is designed for massive amounts of torque. Do a search here for auto clutch failure to see how often they break. I have now done 225,000 Km and the clutch has been worked hard and is still fine.

Good luck,
Mike
