Angry E60 530d smoking on idle

Hi Guys,

I have been through all sorts on this car to find this smoke on idle problem. replaced egr valve, egr and main thermostat, fuel rail pressure sensor, rail pressure regulator, changed the map 15 times, high pressure fuel pump sensor, another exhaust, strangely can get it to not smoke when disconnecting the rail pressure sensor. injectors tested but to be sure tried another set, fuel tank cleaned out nothing found in there, fitted a new dde, lambda sensor, turbo, cylinders, piston rings. had the map removed still smoking on idle with factory setup. been over a month without my ride!! still cant find out what the issue is. any thoughts?

Many Thanks

Try disabling your EGR completely by plugging the vacuum line. If the smoking stops it could be that the EGR pressure converter is faulty and is causing the EGR to let more exhaust into the intake than it should.

I used to get lots of white smoke (unburnt diesel, you don't say what kind you have) from a cold start before I disconnected the EGR.
