I am taking my beloved to my local track ( Cadwell Park ) on Friday for its first track session.

I am receiving and fitting some EBC Red Stuff pads for it tomorrow which from past experience should take care of fading to some extent.

My question mainly relates to how the E60 Auto box performs on track days I guess.

Gut instinct says I would probably like to try DS Manual, but its still quite slow having used it on the road, so im wondering if I should just stick with DS Auto mode ??

Anyone got any comments for this scenario ?

Any other E60 related comments whilst on track ?

fwiw I always drive on track with all the aids fully disabled.

has to be manual mark for track work, and being a "drift king" you will need her to be held on song.

have a blast mate.

I think DS manual may be the way to go, more control in the corners and you will probably manage most of the circuit in 3rd and 4th. I don't Know how the gearbox will hold up to track work, all that torque and prolonged use may see it over heating, suppose it depends how long you stay out.

I'm sure whatever you choose you'll have lots of fun though and I'm looking forward to the vids of you embarrassing some petrol heads.

Im going to take it easy for that reason exactly Russ.......I would think nothing of banging in 10 - 20 laps in a stint with my E46 ( rightly or wrongly ), think I will do 5 lap bursts with a good warmup lap and cooldown lap.

You busy Friday daytime Russ ??
