My Ride: e60 545i, build date july '04, saphire metallic black, auburn interior, sports package.
I drove a e46 M3 before I got my '04 545i. I must say that they have both made me feel like a younger man if that equates to enjoyment. I'm 46 by the way.

Here on the Westside of LA you see more old ladies driving E60s than old men. The parking lot of the Gelson's market in Pacific Palisades is festooned with them.
This was the case with my old Lexus RX300 too. When I got it in '99, it seemed to be most popular with older gals. As a youngish guy, I saw this as a big plus: who wants a car people associate with young guys and singles bar professionals?
The E60 is the best-looking production car on the road, and better still, it's a "sleeper." It passes for something less hip than it is, which is one of its hippest traits.

My Ride: '04 545iS 6 spd, bought new via eBay, 11/05; Blk/Gry, Cold, L7, PDC, BMW Rear seatcover for pets.
First "Bumwa" was a new 1971 2002. High performance 5s since 1987. Beamer motorcycles too, currently on an 07 BMW K1200 GT; also a Moto Guzzi 1000 SP III.
Clearly, she's a young twit. I see lots of gray "old men" in Minis. How would she explain that?
Since I turn 60 this fall (and bought my first new high-perf 5 at age 40), I still think of it as a youngish middle-aged sophisticate's car. After all, it is a SEDAN. And I must say I am surprised at the number of youngins (<30) on this board; something must be happening to the appeal of the E60.
No matter what you think of the style, the demographic fact remains that the under-30-market is not normally in the $65k+ sedan field. The official BMW demographics are available in the Search field if you are interested. IIRC, the E60 was early 40s. I would also suspect that 40 is mostly centered on the popular 525s; and the age probably rises proportionally with the engine displacement (and salary!).

I always liked BMW, but the Bangle designs have really locked me in.
And it doesn't surprise me the number of under 30's on this board. Especially for the 8-cylinder models. What can i say? We just have taste.
