Hi All
The other day I was approached by a female in her early thirtys who enquired "is that your car?......Very nice! She went on.... I had one of those ...a black one. I took it back because every other one I saw was being driven by old men. I traded it in for a Mini.... Lost ?5K on the trade in. The salesman said it was the first time anyone had brought one back for that reason" I was probably as speechless as the salesman. Is it a female thing as the logic of this story escapes me..... or are we really all old men?

The reason that the e60 is driven by older men (IN THE UK) - is that it costs a bit to run - and demographically older men are the main group that can afford it.

Younger chaps and ladies tend to go for smaller cars - hot hatches if they can afford them - cause they have less baggage and children to cart about.

She sounds weird to me - was she chatting you up or telling you that you were getting old ?

A volvo V70 - is an old mans car (in fact all volvo's really) - as is the mercedes e-class.

But not the e60.

I'm 27, is that old?

Volvos I can understand being described as an old mans car (I used to get it all the time when I had one) but the E60 - definately not an old mans car

You certainly do not! I was so taken aback I could not give her any counselling on her mental state. Next time I see her will call for the medics right away!

But not the e60.
Also add the extreme difficulty they will have in getting affordable insurance unless over thirty in the UK.
