Went to halfords today but it was a waste of time to be honest, told me there was 12.8 volts in battery (was only taken off charger), I explained that when i try to turn car over voltage is dropping a lot but they had no answers really.

New battery is in car at the minute, put it in 7am, 13hours later voltage before startup was 12.2, decreased to 9 something when starting, went to 14.9/15 on idle. I drive seems more responsive, and key fob is working central locking from further away than before, possible this is related?

Dealer wants car in for a day to run checks but won't be free unless battery is at fault though Worried I'll be hit with big bill for labour as they will probably search for hours to try find a reason to not give a free battery, they can't give me price as they don't know how long it's going to take. He said they need to charge battery first, leave it and check after a while if it's holding charge, then run all other tests on various systems in the car to find out if there is a fault causing the drain. Anyone else had an energy diagnosis done or recommend one?

Thanks, dealer told me its unrelated but car will be recalled soon for this. Something to do with a power cable connection underneath seat I think..
