Default E60 2005 BMW 545i Mirror Problem

I have a 2005 BMW 545i and when I back up, the passenger side mirror does NOT tilt downwards so I can't see the curb. This has been working for years, and suddenly it stopped working.

What is the problem and how can I fix this? Please help.

That moves the right mirror but it does not move down automatically when I back up now.

How can I get this working again?

Not sure of a real fix, but I had the same issue, and when i changed my battery and it reset everything in the car and the mirror started to work again. I don't know if you want to disconnect your battery and see if that'll help. This is not a fix, just from my experience.

but if you leave the switch selected for the passenger side, the reverse tilt wont work. move the selector switch to the drivers mirror.
