I would like to see more pics of the interior front and rear and for you to outline the mods and equipment you have inside I can see a add on to the center console (I like) and an add on to the pass and driver rear seat. Please post more pics and details

From what I understand, the 5 series (Li) are produced locally with a Chinese manufacturing partner. BMW is more of a luxury brand in China (than in the U.S.), and the cars sell for a significantly higher price. I don't think the 3 is produced there. And because of the congested streets/roadways, it's hard to find space to enjoy the sportiness of BMW.

funny, Chinese people are usually shorter than Germans (and Dutch) but apparently a lot more practical as they lengthen their cars and we do not.

Any other differences in the car except for length? And where are they assembled? (in other words: can I get one here in Europe?)
There's no difference in the car except for length. It is assembled in ShenYang, Northern City of China, not far from Beijing. Started from 2004, but only E90 and E60 are currently assemble here. I think you actually can order a Li version of E60 in Germany, as it is designed in Munich, here's the photo of a Li version in Germany, I think.

come to think of it, that would mean I have to sit in the rear to enjoy the space...... hmmmmm..... rather enjoy the driving and stay in front.

However, I do think that it is kind of stupid not to offer it with reasonable space in the rear. It's a strange characteristic that most cars still have little to no serious legroom or sitting quality.

Thanks for sharing the info, interesting!

Here it comes(pictures of details in page 2). I think the "add on" you quote is the rear seat media system, can be chosen from the accessories list. But without it, the rear seat area is Huge! check this

do I notice a little cover next to the FWD/RWD buttons under the DVD slot? is that for external audio/video source?

Also noted the front seat buttons on the rear side of the seat, handy

u r right, but the price has been droping. and the reason the price is relatively higher compare to US is it because we dont have a "build your own BMW" option, that means the car produced here are almost the same with most of the accessories. (like PDC, leather seat, etc), they r all stock. with that huge list of options and accessories, we pay a lot of money on the things we dont really need. ~~~ only thing u can choose from is the paint and interior colour. hope one day customer in china can build their own BMW.
and for the 3er, only E90 r produced, not E92 E93.
by the way, just checked BMWUSA.com, whaaooo, really a good deal, even compare to Germany and UK, much cheaper. u guys are very lucky.

i think the button is just in case some basketball player need some extra space
the external audio source is under the outlet of the air-conditioning system, the cover u mentioned is a USB port for u to upload photo to the screen. pity there's no video input, otherwise i can enjoy PS3 in the back.
