My Ride: E60 530i, Dynamic Drive, Xenon, Active steering, Navi Business, 17 inch 122, comfort seat, active seats, professional telephone, PDC, Logic 7, 6 CD box., probably the oldest E60 in the forum registered BMW in Munich marts 2003.
I know that it is a childish question however, I need to know. I have just bought a bmw530i (231 hp 2003 model). This engine is also found in the 330i (e46). In the specification from BMW the 330i accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 6.5 s and the E60 530i in 6.9 s, this is for the sedan versions with stick shift. However, the specifications also show that the E60 is only 50 kg heavier than the E46 when comparing sedan models or even a 100 kg lighter than the 330ix touring, which supposedly should reach a100 km/h in 6.7 s. Can this really be true? I would expect the E60 to do the 0-100 almost as quick as the E46 sedan and faster than the touring? Wind resistance does not seem to be the explanation; the E60 is slicker than the E46 and even when compensating for the smaller front area of the E46 the difference in wind resistance is insignificant. So basically, have any of you tested this in real life? Do the E46 out run the E60? If the diffrence is insignificant why does BMW claim these specifications?

My Ride: E60 "Stripper"
Now C6 "Stripper"
The E46 330i will be quicker but not by much.
Keep your E60 530i in DS mode or M1 to M6 floor it and don't hold back!
Besides your 530i is classier than the 330i
My brother in law thought his 04 330i was so hot and "flexed" on me.
But I'm better looking and "larger" than he could ever be, so there!
