E-Brake Broke!

My Ride: 2005 530i, Titanium Gray Metallic, Premium Package, Sport Package, Sirius Radio, Xenergie interior light set, Steptronic, Predator ICE, 124 Style OEM Wheels,
Not 10 minutes ago I went to park my car and I pulled up on the e-brake handel and "POP" something let go inside the mechanism 
. I have not heard about this happening before. Luckily I have a service appointment on Friday for an oil change and a wood piece replacement. I'll let you know what happened.
