I have searched through several threads on the topic and it seems like a common occurence in some E60's. My 2006 550i when I either hit a bump or drive hard out of a turn, for the last week or so I have been getting the symbol pop up of the leaning car with yellow lines. Then it is followed with wonderful 'pong' chime. I recently had new tires installed on the fronts. The system will reset after a couple miles usually.
I have a great inndy shop local who can flash the computer for me. I was jsut wondering if that is worth the time. Alternaton and battery both check out fine.
Thanks in advance
Scot

Have you checked your power steering/hydraulic fluid level?

Honestly I am sure how old the battery is other than voltage is good. I topped it off this evening with the approriate fluid and could still make the warning light appear during acceleration out of a turn and or bump. It will not store any codes. I am going to have my tech drop it on the computer for me Wednesday and see what it says.
Thanks for the input and I certainly like to exhaust my options before droppng by the shop. If she was as simple as my 88 535is
Have a great night

I had the chance for some spirited driving this afternoon and I am happy to report no issues after about 70 miles with numerous 25MPH turns taken at 40-50mph. not saying it may not flash up tomorrow but maybe I needed to get the fluid through the system. Thanks for you help......

This happens every 2 years for me-the low fluid. Filler up and its always fixed. the DD seems to be pretty bullit proof as I have never heard of a malfunction beyond fluid or battery which is not even a malfunction of the DD

The front sway bar are known to leak in the DD system which is why the flid level is going low. You need to remove the front undercarriage panel and check if the front sway bar is leaking.

The post you linked is one random guy. I would hardly call that a "known issue"
Actually the power steering fluid is not pressurized so regular evaporation is totally normal, unlike coolant. The PS fluid is not fully sealed and pressurized. I have had this problem for 4 years and every 2 years its the same thing and has nothing to do with a leak.
