Hey guys,

Ive purchased some new headrests with built in DVD's to keep my son happy on long journeys, and I was wondering what is the best thing to connect them onto?

Are there any cables in the seat itself that would be suitable? (I have electric seats but non memory)

If not where is the easiest place to pick up a 12v supply? It must be on the accessory position and not a perm supply as I dont want them getting left on when the car isn't in use.

Any help would be appreciated

The rear lighters are the best. Only works when the engine is running.

Thanks Bruce, but I my car does not have a rear cigarette lighter. I suppose I could take it to the front one but was kind of hoping that there would be an easier way without having to get into the front console, If I decide to do this which cable does what in the cig lighter, as I dont want to connect it up wrong and break the screens

Does anyone know if there is a switched accessory cable in the seat itself? If so which cable should I connect to?

Thanks

Here is a link to the wiring diagram for the E60 that you might find useful.

I just sent the cables under the seat and into the fronT cig lighter. When not used I tuck the cable into the net that iS down beside the passengers feet.

DO NOT CONNECT THESE TO THE SEAT OUTPUT OR ANY OTHER OUTPUT UNLESS BMW FIT THEM.

don't connect any devices requiring power to any existing device unless you know what you are doing. the last thing you want it to make your car 'never sleep' and you return to a dead battery.
