I was up in the mountains over the weekend, so it got down in the low 30's at night and my car slept outside each night. Each morning when we would leave to go somewhere, when I started the car the i-drive was a little dim for a few secs, and would say DVD Error on the screen. After about 15-20 minutes of driving, the navi would pop up and be fine, and I wouldn't have problems for the rest of each day.

Does cold weather cause this. This is the only thing I could come up with. My car usually sleeps in my toasty garage, so I think this was the first time it has spent the night out in cold weather.

I don't think so. We've had nasty winters here in Colorado for the past 3 years, single digits for weeks and I never had any problems with my NAV. It might take a little longer to boot up but that was the extent of it.

Could be condensation, or the cold affecting the DVD or player itself. The LASER alignment needs to be very precise, if you were using a copy made on a PC, say rather than an original, you would be more likely to see a problem.

That is what I was wondering.....but I've been using the bootlegged 2010 copy (posted link from here) for 6-8 months with no issues, until this weekend.
