Just want to rant. Why do people always like to nick the metallic dust caps on the tyre valves on our BMWs??? It happened on my 3 series and now on my 530i as well.
WHY WHY WHY?

Sorry that they are scarred. Seems like a problem I have never had. If I could see a picture maybe I could understand. I do my own tire checks. My valve caps even survived the bridge incident.

JDN, I think he's referring to people stealing them, not damaging them.

In any case, I've never had that happen to me either...

It's usually kids stealing them to put on their bikes. My dealer has them continually stolen off cars on their forecourt. I had mine stolen twice and bought a bag of around 40 caps from the parts department for ?5 if I remember rightly. Since buying them I haven't had any more stolen but my sister had hers taken from her Mini (same cap) so I've given her replacements.

Thanks, Rudy. That cleared it up for me. I should have read the description of the topic.

How very true! Maybe I should start selling them on here in competition with the stealers...
