Hello All,

I have got Dunlop SP9000 currently on the rear tyres and these now need to be replaced have only done about 12k miles over 10 Months and would expect them to last longer? Could also be alignment problem as inside of tyre has very uneven wear.
I also have 20 inch wheels and had the alignment originally done by KwikFit who said they can do it but now have my doubts, Any thoughts on this?

Any way I am currently deciding between the above tyres, both seem to offer good performance but I would like to know peoples experience with Tyre Life.

Which tyre would you say has the longest tread life?

Please do leave your comments it is much appreciated.

Although I have the sportmaxx, I voted null as I don't know if they're better than the GY's.
I'm really happy with them with regards to handling and noise though. Their highlight is wet performance, which is outstanding, as we usually have wet summers here...

high speed performance is steller as well...

Doesn't Goodyear own Dunlop?

I had Dunlop SP 9000's on my Audi A4. They were OEM tires when I bought the car. I put 25,000+ miles on them before I changed them. The had them rotated every 5k miles.

Goodyear F1 without doubt, its cheaper and performs better!
I had sportmaxx on my e60 now for about 5,000km, good all around performance and nice ride quality but F1 has the edge of performance either in dry or wet!!
(but some people says F1 is a bit noiser tho)
The only reason i didnt get F1 in the first place is because the dealer did not have the rear tyre 275/30 for my m172 wheels

agree, I find the Dunlops surprisingly quiet on the road - really can't complain with regards to performance either.

I dont think you will find any GSD3s left in the right size for a 5 series, they have been replaced by the Assymetric F1 in larger sizes. The GSD3 and the F1 Assymetric have pretty much won every test they have been in the sportmax has not. I know what I would buy.

I have the Dunlops on my Z3 Roadster and like them. The ride, noise and handling are great. However, it's my nice weather driver so I can't comment on wet or snow handling. In the US I bought them based on TireRack reviews, rating and [last but not least] price. They also "look" good!

I put F1 GS-D3's on my 545 and my 550. Stellar tire - one key point for the E60 is that they are immune to tramlining due to their tread pattern. The F1 GS-D3 is also incredible in the wet. I have seen good reports on the Sport MAXX too. Also looks like a good tire. As others have said the Eagle F1 Asymmetric is just out and it won EVO's tire test a couple of months back - also well worth a look.
