Hi All:
Does anyone have any idea of the mileage that one should expect from the Dunlop run flats that come with the 545i sport package? In this regard, I would be interested in 2 types of replies: (a) those dealing with mileage up to the point the tires generate excessive road noise and (b) those dealing with the mileage up to the point the tires become unsafe. Thanks in advance.
P.S. Oops. Misspelled mileage in the topic title; hate it when that happens.

I replaced my Dunlop run flats at just under 20,000 miles. I did not have any tire noise issues. The front tires were in decent shape, maybe 3 or 4,000 miles left. The back tires would not have been safe in wet conditions in my opinion. Since I live in California, I will not be seeing any rain for a couple more months. I wanted to get away from the run flats and now was a good time. Hope this helps.

2007 550i 6-spd----> Premium package, sport package, Logic7, heated everything, Rogue Engineering SSK, CDV removal, hardwire V1 install, aFe cold air intake, Custom Magnaflow exhaust....
I have runflats too. My car has 15.500 miles on it. The rear is almost gone, probably can last about 2000 miles while the front has half the thread left. Yeah i admit I can get naughty behind the wheel and did some burnouts. Coming from a cayenne where the non runflat performance tires only last 10,000 miles, i gotta say I am happy with tire wear on my car.

After reading all the complaints about the runflats I consider myself extremely lucky. The car feels really quiet with no problem at all and yes, I have about 2000 miles left on my tread

Thank you all for the info. It helps a great deal. One poster implied, perhaps, that one could tell up-front if his run flats are the noisy variety. If so, then how? I purchased my car in June. Is it even moderately likely that it has the noisy variety? Is the probability of my car having the noisy type darned close to zero?

I think it was tires manufactured during most of 2003, which went on the 2004 cars. After that Dunlop fixed the problem. There is a date code on the sidewall of each tire, something like wwyy where w= week (01-52) and y= year (03,04,05). I think thats the coding.
