I was playing with the DTC buton the other day. Probably a stupid question, but it feels like the car has more power with it off. What does this actually control?

Dynamic Traction Control. If I remember correctly it controls wheel spin when the wheels are straight. It'll allow for some wheel spin when the wheels are pointed straight. Like if you need to spin the wheels to free yourself out of snow.

I'm guessing it's not cutting power to the engine, unlike when you have everything on any wheel spin the management system will start to interfere with your power delivery to the wheels.

Ive felt the engine power down if I accelerate through water puddle or something with DTC on...Its a weird function. I almost want to push the limit to see what the car acutally can do..

DTC is always on unless you hold the dtc button down for 5 seconds or greater.

From start-DTC (traction control limiting wheel spin is on) and DSC is on which manageds the other aspects of yaw, wheel spin braking by computer as needed--basically more advanced encompassin traction control.

Now Press DTC button once briefly-you turn the DSC off and you leave only DTC on so you dont have as intrusive of correction, it allows some wheel spin but ultimately the DSC will kick in if things get out of control only later in the maneuver.

Hold DTC buton for 5 seconds-turns the DTC and DSC completely off-no intervention whatsover and it will never kick in and you crash

It is a quite confusing system-It would have been more clear to have a button with DTC/DTC Off- and you pressed once to turn dsc off and then hold it to turn them both off-instead the labeling makes it sound like you are "turning dtc ON by pressing it"when in fact it is always on unless you hold the button down

by the way there is absolutely no engine power to be had-these are all simply brake, wheel spin, yaw, steering angle, abs sensors controlling your car.

If you want to look at it more practical there are 3 settinsg
DTC and DSC on---full nanny "street"
press once--medium nanny "sport"
hold-no nanny "race"

or something like that
