My Ride: 2006 535d - Silver Grey, Black Leather, Comfort Seats, HUD, Logic 7, Sat-Nav, Adaptive Xenons, 6 CD, Aux input, 19" 192's in Summer, 18" 118's in Winter. Smoked rear lights....
Just fitted my 19" 172's for the Summer last week and this morning the Runflat warning came up.
It was only 3 miles to work so I carried on.
At lunch I checked the pressures and they were out so I set them using the portable compressor I always carry. (one of the 18" winter tyres had a slight slow puncture).
The compressor runs best if the car is running so I did all 4 and then reset the Runflat monitor.
Immediately I set off for town the DTC light came on. Any ideas why ?.
Left the car for an hour and it is now off.
I picked this off the BMW website but I can't see how inflating tyres can switch this on or off !

Did you install the wheels yourself?
I had new wheels installed a couple of weeks ago and they did a high speed balance on the car. Obviously the machine they use spins the wheels at speed with the engine off and the car in neutral. When I got in the car I had virtually every error message you can imagine showing. Apparently turning the wheels with out the engine running really confuses the computer. So, I am wondering if your wheels were turned much with the engine turned off. It just took me driving a while and turning the car off and back on a couple of times to set everything right again. I did have to re-set the TPMS in iDrive a couple of times for it to read correctly too.
