[/quote]This is true, but I found it more true on FWD cars than on RWD cars, since on a FWD you can dig out better my jerking the steering wheel while burning some rubber. Nothing like smell of rubber and snow!
But when you have slippery or light snow, DTC will actually work. It's really a combo and use as needed. Both at times.

I don't like the fact that I have to dial in opposite lock of varying degrees as my speed varies - just seems counterintuitive to me. If AS had an on/off I would have gotten it with the sports pkg and messed with it on to learn it and see if I could get used to it.
In the UK the AS is always a separate option, even on the Sport. From what I know the US sport option adds a whole package of options...

FWIW - Car and Driver gets better track times with the controls shut off. You will get faster 0-60 times with a little wheelspin. I had an adjustable TC on my last car. You dialed in the amount of slip from 5-20% and it was good to have a little slip on dry pavement...

That's why I didn't get the sports package. Like I said in another thread, US = cheaper prices + less flexibility on options and Europe is the opposite. Us Yanks are too stupid to choose options so BMW combines them for us..

I usually have the system on and don't turn it off, even though I know how to drive without. It provides you with more safety. On track I will definately turn off the complete DSC!
