Me too! 530xiT. Mine actually says "AWD and DSC malfunction," also the Start Assist/Amber BRAKE indication. Just started today. Car drove fine for 120 miles.

That's the way our X's report it, but same problem. Good luck!

... so in the meantime, and possibly for 3 weeks I'm told, I'm in a Mondeo hire car!

Roger
Sorry bout your problem. I know how it feels when a new car have problems, it pi**es you off, doesn't it? But totally off topic, if your 5 is at your dealer, why are you in a Mondeo, they should give you a loaner E90 or something...

Heathrow BMW replacing mine next Thursday approx. two week wait for SZL module. Unlike US in UK they just let you carry on driving the car. Also picked up low speed noises from the power steering not sure if this is related or not.

SZL sensor finally replaced today by Heathrow BMW / Mini. The car came back spotlessly clean and the problem seems to be cured. Not sure if they changed anything else as no note was left by return driver but the low speed steering noises I had started to get have also gone.

My car went in for its first MOT test today, (uk legal requirement as soon as a car is 3yrs old) and while there, I told them it had been in before for this problem (dsc) but that it still did it.

told szl thing needs replacing and UK?400 (US$750), theyre telling me the cars now out of warranty, even though i reported it and was told it was fixed by software update while in warranty!

advice for anyone in uk coming up to 3 yr mark - get your mot done a couple of weeks early, so that if anything needs doing, you can get it done within the 2 remaining weeks of your warranty....
