Same problem for me as well. I've been waiting for a part for a week and a half.
Car drives fine except right when I start up at slow speeds. SA says it won't damage the car.
He better be right!!

Yep, same problem here . Occured last week, but I only managed to get to the dealer today. When teh service advisor called back to confirm what the problem was, she said that I could leave the car and the part would be in in the morning... As it happens, I need the car tonight so said I'd re-book. When I picked the car up, she told me the part was on back order

I am so happy to say that I've joined the club, too. No loaner car - the dealer just ordered the part and sent me on my way.
In case anyone is wondering: the xi-models are affected, too (I have a 530xi).

BMW Heathrow had the car and confirmed that its the SZL sensor in the steering, the part they told me is on two weeks back-order.
With so many cars globally affected this must be getting an expensive problem and Im sure one Munich brass will want resolved quickly.
They also fixed the brakes which I was not aware had an issue.

Add me to the list! I dropped it off at the dealer this morning. I am waiting for the call right now from my SA to see how long it will take to fix.
