But was told by my service advisor that they have to be able to replicate it. I drive the car 2 hours a day, their service guys drive it for 15 mins, so I wonder if they'll find it. The service advisor said they dont get paid unless they meet 100% of the conditions for any SIB. He even had to word the request in a way that makes it seem like we weren't reading off the SIB. Is this ridiculous or just how it works?

Well , to be honest not everything they say sounds wrong. Firstly i think they're being polite. They cannot just repair stuff for you unless they verify. If they didn't imaging how many claims BMW would take from them and how much grief they would have explaining to BMW why ..
Secondly, if there is a way to document it -ie error log - surely BMW will ask for this. They (bmw) just don't hand out money just because a dealership told them they fixed a fault. For instance, imaging a dealer claiming for a upper head block from BMW -due to the infamous knocking -but told you there is nothing wrong with it and would just walked away.. Unlikely but just an example to make to understand what i mean

I have had issues some times with them being able to verify issues that I have had. What I have done is make friends with my SA and then after I bring up the issue a few times and they cannot replicate it. I make sure that I know how to do it and then I politely ask if I can replicate the issue for them and usually they let me. After I replicate it for them they usually fix it.
