I'm pretty sure when I picked up my car a couple of weeks ago, my DRL was on during the day when the light switch is turned to the auto position. A few days ago, I took my car to the dealership to examine a battery leakage problem and the next day I noticed that the DRL were no longer on during the day. There were no warnings
I took the car back yesterday to resolve the leaking issue and mentioned to the dealer that the DRL was no longer working. When I picked the car up in the evening, after work, he stated the the DRL was working normally.
Today, I found that with the car running and the light switch turned to auto, the DRL is not working. I have checked the iDrive and the only options available to me under lighting are; Triple Turn Signal and Pathway Lighting. There is no Daytime Running Lights option.
Is this normal for the '07 550i and was I just imagining that the DRL was working before?
Thanks,
Dennis

Doesn't sound right. As I recall the DRL are turned on and off by the dealer in a 2007 car (US model). Checking should be pretty simple, stop the dealer and show the SA they are not working...
Sounds like the dealer, in the course of fixing your other situation, programmed your DRLs "off". And, true, for most '07 US models the DRLs cannot be switched on/off in iDrive. Maybe they thought they were contributing to the battery problem ??
unless you're from canada.....why would you prefer the DRL's on?????? I have an 06 and mine were never on, and I appreciate the tech that turned em off!! If I need DRL...I can use my HID fogs

Dennis,
In my '07 525xi they appear in the iDrive. I just selected "on" yesterday when tinkering with the car. I find it strange the selection is not available to you. Perhaps it is a different software version.
Good luck,
Charlie

Early production date '07s do not have the DRL option in iDrive.
