Well my birthday is coming up and my girlfriend said she'd be willing to buy me just about anything within a reasonable price range, yes even if that gift was something for my e60 the only thing that can seem to distract my attention from her...which she hates haha.

So I'm thinking of either disconnecting my daytime running lights or getting a nicer bulb than stock. I have stock angel eyes still so they're kind of yellow, should I just disconnect the DRL's for fear a bright white bulb will drown out the AEs? Has anyone experienced this? Will that set off any warnings in the computer if I choose to disconnect them? And of course if possible I would like to have matching brands and temps for DRL and Foglights if I choose to keep my DRLs.

Also looking into new bulbs for the fog lamps.

In both cases I'm not sure which temperature of bulb to go with. I want something that's very clearly white knocking on the blue range of the spectrum. I don't want to look like the loser trying to imitate the "blue headlight" look with 10,000k bulbs. But it can't be as unnoticable as the Sylvannia Silverstar Ultras. I put those in the projector lenses on my truck and while they're white, they turn purple and gold at different angles and have really yellowed over about 2 years. I found some fog lamp blubs, don't remember the exact temp. but the color was called "Arctic White" which sounds pretty good to me. I believe they ran about $30-$40 for the pair.

Any thoughts?

 

best bet is to have dealers turn off the DRL and then get HID fogs and MTEC V2 angel eyes.

Try not to get the overpowered tinted bulbs that says they are 8000K or 10000K. I have installed so many HID fogs with customers already installed those bulbs and I had to pry the bulb off, and repair the factory harness since the plastic melted. It will eventually melt ur stock harness or worse housing.

I checked out the LED bulbs, pretty cool but I noticed all the pictures of the bulbs installed in cars were taken either inside a garage or at dusk...wonder how they look in bright sunlight?

 

I've been looking for the MTEC V2 AE's but I can't seem to find a reputable vendor online, I found this, http://f1autohaus.myshopify.com/prod...e65-e66-x53-x5 but the "about us" page is basically blank...any suggestions?

 

To me, for the best look, go with 6000k HID fogs, paired with 6000k HID headlights and 8500 AEs.

 

I went with 8k all around and love it, white with slight blueish tint

 

me too I went 8k all around even to my other car. 8k all around looks nice.

 

Is the 6000k HID fogs a simple bulb replacement?

 

If you car has HID already its easy to install takes probably 15-30 min for both head lights.(yes just a simple bulb replacement)
