went to Peter Pan BMW and ask them to turn off the DRL for me. But they are asking $160 to deactivate. WTF..My car is 2006 550i.
Anybody pay $160 to deactivate the DRL? Where can i go to deactivate other than dealer?

Thats stupid. It should be a free delivery option. I took mine back like a few weeks after to have them disable it... it literally take them less than 5 mins to do. I handed the keys over to the Service advisor walked over to the show room to steal... I mean take some brochures came back to the waiting room wanting to sit down and they told me it was ready...

Tell them you know its a 5 min job and it should be free anyways at least the first time and if they dont honor it tell them you wont be returning for service.

try another dealer... tell them the story that Peter Pan is being stupid and should be a free deliver option yet they want $160 for it and ask the new dealer if they would be willing to do it for you for free during the next service... and that you'll then consider them for service from now on if they treat you right.

It usually is a delivery option where the dealer is supposed to ask you if you want them activated or not. It's done at no cost as part of the pre-delivery inspection (PDI).

The question here is whether or not the OP is the original owner or not, etc. They're probably treating is as a service request (which sucks, I agree...)

Alright.Looks like i need to try another dealership. I'm disappointed today since the reason i trade in my VW touareg is because of my expectation to BMW's customer service. But i just realize the BMW C.S. still can't compete with M.Benz. I miss the MB C. service of Fletcher Jones in Newport, CA. Thats the right customer service.
I'm pretty sure i won't go back to peter pan anymore.

Peter pan and BMW just don't seem to go together - or is it just me?
