Trading for another car is not a mod. haha
If I took the OP's intent literally, it would be what would your ultimate mod be for your E60. For me, it would be the RDSport RS56 motor conversion AND THEN I'd add a NOS system from either ASR Engineering or RPI. That should put the car north of 800hp at the crank. VRRROOOMMMMMMMMMMMMM!
OR add superchargers or turbos on top of that stroker motor.

and dont forget to chrome it out also with all the crap you can possibly find on ebay.

E46 M3 Motor/Trans with HPF Stage 2, in current 525 but with fiberglass/carbon fiber doors, hood, trunk, all fenders, with the rear fenders tubbed or rolled to allow max tire and rim say 19x12, qualfie lsd, oh and a ipod adapter!

I'd keep the 550i stock, send the 911 to Rinspeed for the 88k, 700 hp upgrade, the wife to a spa for a week, the kids to disney land with grandparents, and I would sleep for 7 straight days.

- Collision Advoidance that works in the Parking lot with no one in the car. 
(Maybe call it a "Kit" upgrade from Knight Rider?)
