Hi Guys,
I'm new to this site, actually first time ever posting on any forums(lol)
ok my problem is,I've got bmw e60 525d msport on a 55 plate, I've had it for around 5/6months, (mostly fixing it than driving) first month of purchase felt dead spots didnt make much of it at the time, then had error on idrive about increased emissions. finally lost power wouldn't rev over 2000rpm.
So did alot of googling, finally found a thread where someone did a clean out of there old dpf with turpentine, so i carried out the same step by step guide, put it all back together, and car was spot on got all my power back and was runing normal.
drove it for a week and the power loss come back struggles to reach 2000rpm.
was wondering when I cleaned out my dpf would i have had to get the ecu reset, or get parametres for the dpf reset so car thinks it has a new dpf? because it shouldn't get clogged again within a week? its driving me crazy.
sorry for the long essay, any help will be appriciated.
Thanks

Hi.
Did you identify and fix the underlying cause of the DPF clogging?
Like thermostat failure or glow plug failure or both? That's what I had.
You would benefit from getting a DCAN cable and DIS software and working through the issues. There are many examples in the forums on this. Also what I did.
Also what year is 55 plate? Doesn't mean much outside of the UK.
Cheers.
