YES ON EARLY BUILDS NO TRUNK OPENING.

Yes. That only started with September 2005 production (when the "real" 2006's started).

I have the button in the interior as well - March 05 production 2006 US model year.

The North American cars (i.e. US Spec) have always had the button. Mine is October 2003 and it has one.

Argh, yes, sorry for confusing this situation.

The US market has always had the trunk release button. However, some other North American markets haven't. Some other markets have gotten the button previous to September 2005.

But the entire globe should have this button as of September 2005 production, if I understand the situation correctly.

hmm...but if the doors are unlocked, there's handle at the back of the trunk to open it....which does a similar job..?
