I've booked my car in to, in my words "have all the door seals replaced" as they all creak very badly. I told the dealer that this was now the advice from BMW rather than lubricating them.... does anyone know if that advice was ever officially communincated to dealers - and if so, how I'd direct them at it. UK specific advice would be ideal for the latter!

Cheers, Clive

Here's the link (orginally provided by another member) to the actual BMW TSB for the door seal issue...it's a North American TSB so I'm not sure if it would applicable to you.

There is only the USA TSB as far as i know

You dealer could maybe open a PUMA case and see if BMW would allow them to replace them under warranty, else you would have to pay

I got my car back yesterday. They applied the Carbaflo again despite me saying they needed to change the Door Seals. I even passed on the TSB found on this forum to them.

When I challenged them they said BMW advised them to do that but when I said this was the second time they've done that, they then replied the door seals are on back order. Typical!

They will let me know when the doors seals arrive and I'll have to go in again.
They also said they fixed the rattle from the rear parcel shelf, well they didn't! Can't believe what they do as my car was in for 2 days. Luckily I had a courtsey car from them.

After driving 2 days PT cruiser Loaner car, got my car back for 2nd time Door creaking repair. The noise is still there but definitly quiter. Not sure how long will this repair last (last time only last only 4 days before the noise came back).

2 door sill were replaced this time, they told me that these are the new arrival part from BMW.

Is the creaky door seal issue specific to a certain build time? I've had my 545i 10 days and haven't heard any creaks at all. Does it happen over time, or is it restricted to 1st year E60s?

Looks like it happen to 04 Built Car, My 04 530I (July 04 built) had this issue at around 3000Miles, and the 05 545I (Dec 04 built) having the issue at around 6000Miles.

I feel the problem is because of the hot weather. I remember i parked the 530I outside of garage for 2 days and then the noise started. Same like the 545I, We went to Cabazon outlet doing some shopping, and the car was exposed on the hot weather for maybe 3 hours, when we came back, the door started the creaking noises and the I-Drive Died. Both car are black color with black interior.

The 05 525i (Mar 05 Built) has no problem at all, and its the quite so far.
