Well, its been one heck of a ride so far. It seems only yesterday when I went to the dealership looking for a new car... drove the 5er and I was hooked. Well, now 2.5 years have past and my lease end looms on the horizon. Now for the tough questions.

Pricing a new 525 was a bit of a shock. Seems the base price is up about 5K from when I leased mine back in early 2004. So here is my quandry:

A new 525 with simular options to what I have now, Auto, Premium Package, Cold Weather, Xenon's, Sirius... would retail for just over 49K, with a Invoice of 45K

An E92, 335i with... Auto, Premium, Cold Weather, Nav, PDC, Sunshades, Sat.... retail 49K invoice 45K...

So basically... Tricked out 300hp dual turbo and a hit on the interior space... or base 525 like I've had for 3 years?

Budget wont' allow for anything much over 50K so I'm limited there. Also, I'm a single guy in my 30's... 6'3" 220lbs (not sure what that matters just throwing it out there.)

Your thoughts???

P.S. I have a call in to my dealer for when they get the first E92 on the lot to make sure I can fit inside it. I've driven the E90 and found it smaller, but not as small as my previous 3er a few years back.

Do you really need the added rear space of a 525? If I were you, it's a no brainer. 335 all the way. Push your driver seat all the way back and make yourself comfortable while you're spanking G35s and IS350s. Try not to beat up on other BMWs that are non-M.

You joined the BMW CCA when you got your 525i right? If so then you get another ~$1000.

If you don't need the rear seat space then I would also go for the 335i.

If you chose 335, you'll lose 1 rear seat because of your height. Because you don't use it often, why not go for it? 335 is no brainer for your budget.

That brings up a question. Won't this happen ALOT? I believe 5 sales will suffer because of this. I know quite a few that are reconsidering their next choice.

Yeah I agree. The 5 was my choice because the 3 did not have a quick enough car in the range, however I will be in a 335i or d touring next, the only thing that will stop that is an M3 touring.

I would definitely have the 335i over the 525i, in fact I would take it over the 550i.
