Hey People!

Last week I've been on the Autobahn (A92) near Munich and filmed a bit with my mobile-phone-camera. The quality is poor, but you can see the important things. Up to 210km/h (~130mph) I could handle the phone in my hands. But over 210km/h I had to stop filming and hold the steering wheel with both of my hands. Furthermore it was very windy from beside. Just look how the trucks pass by.... great!!!
On this section the Autobahn was a straight line for about 130km (80miles) and there was no speed limit *yoooohaaaa* So I tried out how fast my bimmer could go - and I reached 258km/h - that are about 160mph.

Man, that was great!!!!!!

My personal high is 148 MPH in 02, 745I and 135 MPH in my 04, 645 on a rural road near Las Vegas. Sorry, can not disclose the exact location as it may become known to the local Highway Patrol

Yust wanted to show you how nice it can be without speed limits. Until last 2002 I lived in Germany - but now I miss the Autobahn a lot. :'(
I can rememb?r when a friend of mine (from Toronto, Canada) visited me in Germany. The first thing I had to do was to let him drive home from the airport (about 60mi Autobahn). He liked it so much that he wanted me to film him - in order to show this to his friends when he got back home

So this was a reason of uploading my small video. Might be interesting 4 those with speed limits

Nice work... Myself had a old E34 540i i the rear view mirror. I had to do what my 530d could.. I managed to not let him pass. Maybe it was because the E60 has much better road handling. But he had no chance and my speed was 230km/h+.. The car is amazing at high speeds..

 

I don't want to panic - but in Germany nowdays there are a lot of debates about the speed limit. Because of the European Union the politicians in Germany are thinking of introducing a speed limit of 130-150km/h. But I think this won't come before 2008 or so. Today about 60% of the Autobahn has a speed Limit of 120 or 130km/h (near the big cities, where lots of cars were driven and where traffic-jams could exist). The rest is without speed limit - like the one on the video.




Yeah - I drive really much! From Denmark to Italy and from Portugal to Romania My 1995' 525tds E34 was only 4 years old and had over 380.000km when I sold it in autumn 2000. And my 320d E46 Touring (2000-2004) also had over 320.000km after 4 years. These cars have been in perfect condition even after those kilometers, but every engine comes to its end! So I've threaten the cars very well (with service and so on) - but in my hands these cars only lived 4 years....then it was over.
