Hello everyone,

I just dropped off my car off for the TCU recall and I have not gotten a "software upgrade" ie CIP/Progman since purchase, 3/05 build. Does the Software update to perform the TCU recall give me the newest CIP/Progman?

I tried searching and could not find a definative answer,

any help appreciated.

I just had it done and got the newest CIP, along with the non-working eyebrows. I didn't know they updated the CIP until I looked at the service invoice later.

thanks for the quick response, Thats good to hear because I had been having difficulty convincing my dealer to upgrade my software over the past few months.

I concur that a CIP upgrade is likely needed to do a TCU upgrade. One thing to keep in mind is that you'll end up getting the "newest" CIP that the dealer has -- which is not always the "latest" or "newest" version in existence...

Good question. Mine was done about 1 month ago, I didn't notice on the service ticket that a CIP upgrade was also done, matter of fact, there was no software version number mention anywhere on the ticket. Damm, who would have thunk it??????

Is there anyway through the idrive I can find out what version I have????????

I've said this over and over. You have to ask for a copy of the "Measures Plan" or "Final Report" when you take car in for service to be supplied to you the time you pick up car. Insist on this - no exceptions. This is your only hope in determining for yourself what software version you have, unless you have very knowledgeable and caring SA.
