Rudy you are right. I joined in '04 when the membership numbers were much smaller. I guess it is to be expected that as numbers increase so the number of problems will increase proportionally. However there has been a substantial and almost exponential decline in the levels of professionalism and courtesy applied by some very vocal members of the forum in the past couple of years. I hope these members understand that their behaviour will inevitably deter many people who could be adding real value to the forums.

Well said Mr. Repostaroni...

I agree that many of our veterans are being chased away by a small handful of relative newcomers because the high standards we held ourselves to in the past have been lowered, for whatever reason. To me, it's truly a shame to witness.

This forum has always received praise for the way the members were able to work out differences with little to no intervention from mods and admins. I believe that one of the reasons people always said this was the best forum was because there was rarely a need for the admins or mods to intervene, close discussions, ban members, etc. That was all possible because of the caliber of person posting here, not because of anything we did! When misunderstandings occurred, people wouldn't just "pile on" and crush another member, they came to his/her aid and helped everyone involved iron things out. I always believed that this was due to the high level of maturity of our members. I still believe that we can get back to a similar level of maturity if we all stop to realize what Tony is saying -- it's up to the members, not the mods or admins to fix this!

Each and every member, when posting publicly or privately, needs to show respect to one another like we did in the old days. If you don't have something nice to say about someone, don't say it. Granted, I understand that many members have become close friends through meets, etc. and very often sarcasm and light-hearted kidding will take place (I'm guilty of this myself ) but that doesn't mean that each and every member deserves to be greeted here with a wise-crack or insult. I've seen new members bashed unnecessarily and when they ask why they were treated with such little respect, they get bashed some more!

A small bit of advice I can add for many members here is quite simple -- before firing off a hasty reply to someone that may not be constructive, take a few extra seconds, re-read what you typed, and ask yourself if you're actually contributing something to the discussion or if you're crossing the line over to a post that may not reflect the best interest of our fellow members. As Iceman said above, a high post count does not make anyone any more valuable here than a person with a low post count. We'd all be better off if we stopped focusing so much on how many posts people have, etc.

I welcome additional input from you folks, the membership, since that's really why we're all here. Thanks for listening!

These guys are like the guys who fart in an elevator full of people, they are anonymous, but annyoing and it is ALWAYS funny to watch other peoples reactions.

Posting crap on a message board is Prank calls and Elevater farts wrapped into one technologically advanced nuisance
THAT is the best line EVER!!!! Good one Craig!! (just ease up on the Taco Bell buddy )

I couldn't agree more, Rudy. It was one of the main reasons I decided to take a hiatus, even though it was brief. We can still joke around and have fun, but it would be nice to have this forum back to the way it used to be.

Thanks guys!

I think, with everyone's help, we can do a much better job of getting things back to the good old days. I know that after this past weekend's events, I can already sense a dramatic change in the air around here and I'm encouraged by everyone's support.

Wow shit got deep in this thread while I was away in hiatus deep in the jungles of Burma.. Well I'm back and as the self proclamed unofficial moderator here.. I say!! ... Vallokmen !! Haha I agree with you 100%, we all do I'm sure. And it's the concensus around here now that the e60 DOES in fact look exactly like a civic! Thank you for your spot on observation and lemme tell you all of us here would love to have a Lexus gx8790 but we just can't afford it so we gotta drive these shitty civic wannabees... I have a 3 series now and when I park it next to an RX I feel like it looks EXACTLY like a Honda fit!!!!!!!
