As i said earlier, my statement is subjected to the recent amount of hostility in the forums.
Im not the only one who is aware of it.

Good night.
Oh. I hadn't noticed any, but then I don't read all the threads.

it is pretty obvious. we have the same few people come back from time to time. To the very active users of this board, we can almost intantly spot it. some of us are nicer then others, they want to give the new guy a chance. Scott doesn't give them a chance. Personally, I think Scott is spot on and I support calling him out and banning him right away.

Don't get fooled by the OP. This is a spam BS post by the same loser who has posted here as 5er_ooomph and M5Wannabe. Just like them, there are no pics of his alleged E60 -- only an assinine post designed to elicit a response.
Everyone here needs to chill...

First of all, why is it that you folks think it's okay to accuse someone of being someone else without any verification or proof that this is even the case?

FYI, recently, you guys have been wrong way more than you've been right about this sort of thing. To make an assumption about another member's identity and then go on to insult them, become hostile towards them, or otherwise attack their credibility -- without any proof whatsoever -- is simply unacceptable and will not be tolerated.

If you suspect that a member might be someone else (such as a previously banned member, etc.) please let the mods/admins know and we will determine the truth and take action, if necessary. There is no guarantee that you will receive a public or private reply about the issue so just because you didn't hear anything from anyone does not mean the situation is not getting any attention. Depending on many factors, the resolution of these types of issues may take more time than many people are accustomed to so again, just report the situation and let us do what needs to be done.

One other very important thing to remember is that this is a global community and many of our members do not have the same command of the English language as others do. Often times they are doing their best to communicate in a language that they're not comfortable with so before beating them up and/or assuming they have bad intentions, show them some respect and give them a chance. When a post looks suspicious, give the person the benefit of the doubt and get clarification by probing further but with respect. If they truly are a troll or have some alternative agenda, it'll be evident eventually and they will be dealt with.

Another thing to understand is that the term "5er" is commonly used outside the USA to describe a 5 series so just because a member chose to include that term in their member name does not automatically associate them with another member who chose it as well.

We're all here to share a common interest -- the BMW 5 series car. We need to respect and welcome anyone who wishes to participate in the forums, regardless of whether they are able to post a picture of a car or whether they even own a car! It amazes me to see people judging whether or not a member is "legit" based on some artificial (as well as ridiculous) criteria. This behavior needs to (and must) stop immediately.

Everyone clear on this?

With all due respect, I don't think this is the time to make fun.

Iceman and Rudy:

My apologies for offending you. I talk both on the open boards and via PM with members from all over the world.

Lately, there seems to be a pattern of new members who don't post pics of their rides, don't seem to have have an E60 although they represent that they do, whose posting style seems to mirror prior infamous or banned members and who seem to post for the sole purpose of getting members to go at each other. I objected to this kind of stuff our of concern for the integrity of the forum. There was certainly no intent on my part to upset the mods.

From now on, I just won't respond to those members or their posts and let the chips fall where they may.

Cheers,

Scott
