does racing fuel or high octane gas do harm?

there is a shell here that has 100 octane gas and i am thinking of getting some. can it hurt my car?

I'd stick with regular 93 octane. Higher octane/race fuels often contain lead. While this is not a problem on my drag car with no cat converter, it will reduce the life of o2 sensors and your converter on a street car.

In short, on an N/A car, nothing past 93 octane will really net any noticable gain in performance.

There are leaded and un-leaded race fuels...but yes, leaded race fuels will fvck shit up with your O2's and Cats...

In Europe (Ireland) our standard octane is 95, and our super is 97, so 100 isn't much higher than the Germans are used to!
