Does DSC/DTC come back at 40 mph even if turned off manually?

I believe I read this on a BMW article but I could be wrong-however if you disable the DCS completely-when you hit above 40mph does it automatically come back on? This would be ideal, atleast for me since I do not like it from a start and at speeds below 40 but once I get going I see no reason to not have it and enjoy the active steering being that it is more stable to me. Just curious
