Hello all,

I realize that I've ran this topic into the ground and I apologize however, I've heard so many opinions regarding the loudness of this exhaust that I'm concerned. I've even heard it sounds like a fart can in some cases with quite a bit of droning.

I've listened to how the exhaust sounds on the M5 (live) and it sounds really good and that's expected however, I need to hear it on a 525,528, or 530i and that way I'll know exactly what I'm buying. I would hate to have that exhaust installed and not like it and that would be a significant waste of money. So, I was wondering if there are any members who live in the San Fernando Valley, Santa Clarita, Valencia or even Los Angeles that have that exhaust installed?

Thanks,

I was lucky enough yesterday to hear the RPI exhaust that was installed on a 550i and it sounded really good. Not a 530i but at least I'm going in the right direction starting with a M5. Maybe, I'll get lucky in a few weeks and I'll hear one live on a 530i.

I don't know who told you the rpi exhaust sounds anything remotely like a fart can is mistaken. I have it for 8 months now and the sound is excellent, like you would expect from a 1000 dollar exhaust.

It does drone a bit in the beginning, but it subsided for me after 500 miles.

You will not regret this mod. Countless testimonials on this forum about the exhaust and never a mention about a fart can sound.

Good luck with your decision.

You live in SoCal, why not make an appointment with Eloy to go down to RPI and hear the exhaust first hand? They are in Paramount for Pete's sake. Once you hear it you'll love it. The HP gains are proven, the sound is great - DO IT!!!!!

Hi,

Don't get me wrong, I know the exhaust doesn't sound like a fart can just mentioning a comment that I had heard. On Saturday, I had an opportunity to hear the exhaust on a 550i and it sounded really good. I just haven't heard it (live) on a 530i. I've spoken to Eloy and he mentioned that I should start a thread and ask if someone in my area had that exhaust installed that owned a 530i. Regardless, I plan to have it installed anyway.

Thanks,

I own a 530i with RPI and I'm located a few minutes out of SF if you were interested in hearing it...

It doesn't drone at all, although very rarely I have heard it "fart" when I back off the gas from a sprint.

All-in-all, get it, totally worth it!

Thanks for replying, however SF is quite a haul for me. The SF in the thread is short for San Fernando Valley which is about 20 or so miles north of Los Angeles. Again thanks for the reply.

Hi,

As mentioned SF is an abbreviation that I used for San Fernando Valley, not San Francisco. It would be quite a drive.

Thanks,

I plan too. I've heard the exhaust on an M5, and a 550i, so I'm good. It would be great to hear the exhaust on a 530i because that's what I own, but it's not that important anymore.

Thanks,
