While driving home Friday evening a guy in a Dodge Charger SRT 8 pulled up alongside of me. I noticed him in my rear view mirror earlier weaving in and out of traffic. I didn't pay him any attention after about 2 or 3 minutes. I was just relaxing, listening to some jazz when I noticed he was next to me on my driver's side. He was in a lane that switched from a carpool lane to a regular lane. He punched his accelerator and a niiice roar came from his exhaust. I was feeling a little froggy and jumped in behind him. I know the Charger SRT 8 has about 400 hp, but wasn't sure what the fi-fo-five could do. I was on his AZZZ for the next mile or so. Each time he punched it, I was right there with him. It seemed like he was towing me. Satisfied that the fi-fo-five could hang, I slowed back to 70 which made it seem like I was crawling. We hit about 110 for about a half a mile. I LOVE MY CAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hummm I wonder if he gave the Charger all its got... On paper the SRT8 is much better.

You can't even say the name with out laughing and having flash backs of Al Bundy. Dodge just might have the worse car line up year in and year out ever over the years. Not too mention there cars are just junk. I know a few used car lot dealer owners who just about refuse to even have a Dodge on there lot.

Doesn't surprise me you kept up. Many big beefy American cars like that are great in a straight line to about 85 MPH or so and then after that they just stop pulling.

Should come to drive in Germany once in a while. Just went there two weeks ago for business trip and decided to drive to Frankfurt (from Cardiff, with a stop in France). I forgot after so many years of not driving there (used to live there) how nice it is. many places had no speed limit. Could test the 530xd to max tachometer speed (about 245~250km/h). That helps understand why such car can only be designed there... Allowing zone with no speed limits (when dry and traffic light though) is a good way of educating drivers to responsible driving behavior. In fact as soon as a 80km/h limited zone poped up I found myself braking to really stick to the speed limit. In short, it shows they trust the driver, so you tend to trust the speed limit when it ask you to slow down. simple and respectful.
Something to debate. I think the driving in France or UK at max 110 to 130km/h is triggering dangerous behavior and make drivers irresponsible (never seen such dumb driving as on M4 in UK).

I think your on to something there.

In the U.S. here I notice in states that have a 75 MPH speed limit on HWY's that very few people take advantage of it. Many go right about the limit. Few will cruise up to 80MPH but very few beyond that. You set the cruise at 80 to 82 and your passing most people. In states that 65 MPH is the limit, most people cruise between 70 and 75 MPH. Then you have many that run at that 75 MPH to 80 MPH. Basically going a solid 10 MPH to 15 MPH an hour. You set the cruise at 73 to 75 MPH and you'll have cars pass you quite a bit, though you'll pass your fare share also. But on the 75MPH HWY you don't have to many people whipping by you at 90MPH. I think across the nation the Interstate Speeds should be 75 MPH. People pay more attention.

I would not race with a dodge, its out of my league. I drive a way too prestigious car to race with detroits pride.
