DRLs are the law in Canada, so Yes.

Having had that law in place now a number of years, I really appreciate the extra visibility it provides. A good safety feature IMO.

I won't wager on the true safety of the DRL's, but the one indisputable advantage is that they significantly clutter the IR signiture on the car. making it more difficult for John Q. Law to get a good lock on you.

I'm not sure if they will enact new legislation for this or not but it's still safer to drive with them on, regardless of what country you are in.
The initial studies were done in either Finland or Sweden in the 80s. They found around a 10% reduction in multiple car accidents with DRLs. Some have subsequently claimed that this study was somehow flawed, and there is no real benefit. However, I can't imagine that making your car more visible won't have some kind of benefit.

The only at-fault accident I have been in would have been prevented by DRLs. As a teenager, I made a left turn in front of another car on a residential street full of parked cars. I never saw the other car. I'm guessing that, between the parked cars and my relative inexperience at the wheel, my mind somehow thought the car was not moving. A little visibility would have helped.

Since the cost of a DRL system is basically free (just some reprogramming of the car's computer) you'd think it would be required equipment by now. Instead, legislators seem to focus on big, expensive, technology-laden systems like TPMS, anti-trap power windows, and backup sensors.
These same legislators will then turn around and complain how automobiles have become much less affordable to the average person.

Picture of this car is not mine but this is how it looks...

Still with LCI i wont turn on angel eye... i would put xenon on so that they can see something flying by them with bright light..

No. If you can't see the car in sunny California, you have a problem.

Even with a strong sun headlamps are very useful! Especially if your car is dark grey as many E60 are .
