I heard some people have AM FM and WB.
But, I only have AM, and FM. Any way I can enable WB?

What's WB? Is it like a TLA?

It's weather radio channel. Maybe only in the US?

I don't have a weather band, what's with that? I have the Logic 7 system and thought it would include WB - not. Does Europe have a weather channel like the National Weather Service in the US? Do you have WB in your cars?

I've had weather band in my March 04 build (Logic 7 / Nav) since I got the car. I know someone else who only got it when they simultaneously upgraded to v12 and had Nav retro-fitted.

I don't know whether WB came with v12 or Nav.

BTW, weather band is a service of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and it gives 24-hour weather and ocean conditions.

I've had WB as well with an early March build. Got upgraded to 12.2 last week, still have WB.

Yes, I believe it's a USA thing. It picks up one of 7 NOAA radio signals in major cites across the country.

During my 4/04 ED I did not have DVD or WB.
After taking re-delivery I got these new options but I know I don't have v12.
I only get WB station 1 with some weather report stuff like for the planet or something like that (useless) the other 6 stations don't tune in.

My car is a Sept. 2003 production date. I don't know what version of software I am running. I do know there is no Weather Band. I have had it in other BMWs. It is very helpful for coastal conditions - wind and waves. Also very helpful for travel in the mountains in winter. What is the story, do you think it is a software upgrade? Do you think it is an integral component of a specific radio? Is my radio different, being a Sept. 2003 build, than the later models you folks have? I would be very interested in getting WB if at all possible. Any information is greatly appreciated.

There are six stations in the US but only one is used in any given metropolitan area. Channel 1 may be used where you live but drive to another nearby city and it'll likely use a different channel.
