Well I've only had my car for 3 days so far, and I've got so many compliments. Maybe its because of my age driving this car. Everyone who I've shown no longer calls me by my name, they call me "baller" or "pimp" now, its a bit ridiculous. Some have said, damn you probably get more ass in that than a toilet seat. I really like the car though, it seems to draw a ton of attention.

I get:

I like them rims!

Wanna trade cars?

When you finish washing it make sure you bring it back to me.( I live near my well know customers.)

Wow I never seen a BMW sound like that before.

How fast you ever went in that car?

Just a couple to add to the list.

I had one comment by a guy who worked for me, stood next to my car he said "someones nicked your tyres".
I assume he meant cause they were such low profile (on 172's). I just said "er....yeah".

I also came out of our factory and caught about 6 of our guys all looking it over, as i unlocked it and got in one mumbled "nice car" as they went back to work.

One of our other managers has an 07 Audi A6, i had a C220 CDI at the time and all he kept banging on about was how great his car was.......since i got the 5, he hasn't opened his mouth once!!!!!

Well, you are bound to get noticed when you are driving around in a 100,000$+ car (yes thats how much a 525d costs in India!) when majority of the cars around you are 1/10th the price.

Have received several compliments especially since i got my E60 very soon after its launch in India for the first time.... although there are a lot more on the road now, it still a head turner... almost everyone smiles when they look at the car besides envious E-class owners

I agree - they seem to outnumber the 3 series. When i bought my 520d from the dealer it was only ?500 ($1000) more than the equivalent engined three - so why not get the five?

A reason is company car policy where it might be considered 'above your station'. As my car is (part) funded by an allowance I can get anything i choose without the corporate bull$yte.

Few years back, my 530i was just few months from new, my then gf said "Thats a beauty!! I love it, can I drive" (the answer to the latter was of course 'no'), anyway, later in the year when we parted our ways, I had a long big key scrath on the passenger front & rear door one day, although I couldn't prove it was her, I think she hated the car.
