My Ride: 2006 530d M-Sport. Silver Grey Metallic, Dakota Black Leather, Professional Nav.
Hardwired Road Angel + Laser, De-Swirl Flapped!!
The main reason for buying 'the ultimate driving machine' is because I drive a lot and can't justify a car for work and a car for play any more as the car for play didn't get used often enough. I've had my E60 for 8 months now and managed 20,000 miles or so. I tend to average about 30,000 per year. Buy it. Drive it. Enjoy it.

I drive an average of 25000+ miles per year. I drive a lot for work. This is one of the reasons I went with an M5 and got rid of my X5. I have so much more fun driving now.

The Ultimate Driving Machine is meant to be driven...mine is my daily driver...actually, I think that not driving it enough is bad for it mechanically.

so, remind me, why did you buy a diesel?
I was only expecting to do 5-10000 km per year, as I use the city train for work during the week. However I've already done 10k in the first 6 months! Well I knew that car was never going to be sitting around much -- and I don't care if air travel is cheaper, "flying at low altitude" is more fun!
