a few days agon on a hot miami day which is the norm i started my car and noticed the duration it took for the ac to blow cold air. at first i turend it off than statrted it again, same premise . finally i put it to max and to no avail, same hot, muggy air not a faint of cold. finally after sweating like a pig the air finally adjusted and worked fine after 5mintes. i chalked it up as a hot day+ car was cold, but than it happened to me again yesterday ...so, my question is this a common problem? any1 else suffer from this? and yes i wil take it to the dealer.

When my car been in the sun for a few hours about 34c and I get in it and wow the car is rosting.
I turn the AC and about 10 min car cools down but the 1st few mins is only hot air like you say but only a few mins.
I have 3M tinted windows so the car cools down much more quickly.

I do have the similar problem as you do. It does happen exactly as what you mentioned. Something on top of that is that it'll blow warm air when I'm at a standstill, say at traffic lights, and when I pull off again, it'll be cold again.

I'm lucky - the gulf spec version has a beefed up AC. Last week it was 50c with 50% humidity and my car blew cold air within a minute - I love the ac in this thing, it's the best I've ever experienced.

A buddy of mine in Vegas has a desert spec E60 and says the same thing about it. Neither of us have heated seats though , not that we care !

Once in a while I have that problem but doesn't last to long. Now I just turn on the car a few min before jumping in and taking off.

that sucks. go get that fixed asap.

but yes, i also do have the problem with the ac. at first it'll blow warm air but give it a few minutes (no more than 2 for me... maybe not even a minute) and it'll blow that nice and cool air for the hot and warm summer.
